FIM Trial Safety Camp

The programme of the camp consisted of a Riders’ Briefing, where it was reaffirmed that the FIM has identified Safety as one of the main pillars of its strategic plan for Motorcycle Sport and that the objective is to minimise risks and engage with the various stakeholders to create a culture of safety. For the discipline of Trial, use of back and knee protectors will be mandatory for Riders, Assistants, and all other bib wearers from 2019 season.

Riders were given guidance on how select a suitable homologated protector, followed by a product presentation from the Protection Manufacturers present (Alpinestars, Clice, Hebo, Mots, Ortema, Racer and S3).

In the exhibition area at the heart of the Paddock, riders and team members were able to examine and touch the protective gear and exchange with the Protection Manufacturers.

Riders also had the opportunity to make a ride test with the different products in the Practice area.

The FIM, in cooperation with all its partners, looks forward to raise the bar of safety in the exciting sport of Trial!
