Marit Strømøy fikk hederlig omtale i nyhetsbrev fra IOC

Det stopper ikke med internasjonal oppmerksomhet for Marit Strømøy!

Nå blir Marit Strømøy også lagt merke til i de olympiske kretser!

Strømøy fikk for snart to uker siden heder og ære i Lousanne da hun som første kvinnelig powerboat-kjører ble kåret til Årets Utøver hos organisasjonen UIM.

Dette er nå også blitt omtalt i Olympic Highlights som utkom 13. mars. Nyhetsbrevet gis ut av International Olympic Commitee. Her kom det også frem at hun er den første kvinnen som har vunnet en Formula 1-konkurranse innen båtsporten.

«Norway’s Marit Strømøy became the first female
powerboat racer to be named “Driver of the Year”
at the 11th Union Internationale Motonautique
(UIM) Awards Ceremony, held at The Olympic
Museum in Lausanne on 7 March. She is also the
first and only woman to have won a Formula 1
race. In addition to recognising the achievements
of its world champions, the UIM also presented
its “Environmental Award” and the “UIM Stefano
Casiraghi Memorial Trophy”. The latter was
awarded to Chungwon Choue, the President of
World Taekwondo, for his pioneering
humanitarian initiatives and his personal
investment in international sports and peace.
This was also the first time the ceremony was
held outside Monaco..»

GAISF-presidenten Dr. Raffaele Chiulli (Global Association ogf International Sports Federation) sendte for øvrig nyhetsbrevet til Marit Strømøy hvor han blant annet skriver:
